Flue
dust from production of cement clinker (covering the EINECS entry "Flue dust,
portland cement" with EC number 270-659-9) - A complex combination of
finely divided inorganic particles separated from the exit gases formed during
the manufacture of cement clinker which is produced by thermal processing of raw
materials (naturally occurring minerals and/or alternative raw materials) and
fuels (fossil and/or alternative)
- The composition is based on the EINECS
entry for "Flue dust, Portland cement", all known constituents in concentrations
above 10% (w/w) are given:
- Total clinker phases: 0-100%
- Alite (3CaO.SiO2
or Ca3SiO5), belite (2CaO.SiO2
or Ca2SiO4), aluminate (3CaO.Al2O3
or Ca3Al2O6),
ferrite (4CaO.Al2O3.Fe2O3
or Ca4Al2Fe2O10)
- Other clinker phases: CaO, CaAl2O4,
Ca2Al2SiO7,
CaAl4O7, Ca4Al6SO16,
CaAl12O19, Ca12Al14Cl2O32,
Ca12Al14F2O32,
Ca12Al14O33,
Ca6Al4Fe2O15,
Ca2Fe2O5 and
other intermediate calcium aluminates and calcium silicates
- Raw
materials (eg CaCO3, SiO2, MgCO3,
Ca(OH)2)): 1-100%
- Alkaline chlorides (eg KCl, NaCl,
CaCl2): 0-55%
- Alkaline sulfates (eg CaSO4,
K2SO4): 0-55%
- Other minerals
(MgO, (Ca,Na)2(Al,Mg)[(Si,Al)2O7],
Ca3Mg(SiO4)2,
Ca5(SiO4)2CO3):
0-40%
